Kirkgate Market Wyvern Mural

Leeds Kirkgate Market commissioned me to craft a mural in collaboration with its visitors, celebrating the rich heritage and dynamic culture of the market.

I painted a majestic Wyvern dragon, symbolising the market's identity, onto the wall. (Wyvern dragons can be found discreetly hidden within the markets historic architecture)

During half term, patrons of all ages were encouraged to explore the market, armed with clipboard, paper, and pen, to depict their unique experiences. Subsequently, I meticulously traced these drawings onto acetate, projecting and directly transcribing them onto the mural. The Wyvern thus became adorned with hundreds of unaltered sketches - celebrating everyone's ability to draw.
